Kate is the founder of Kidology and has had a career working within the parenting sector for more than 13 years. As a mother of two young sons, Kate is totally in touch with modern parenting, it's demands and the challenges it presents and has a refreshing , down to earth approach towards her work.
Kate offers a unique style as a parenting consultant. Described by a client as a 'Modern day Mary Poppins' and by Professor Tanya Bryon of television fame as 'very intuitive'. She has qualifications in Child behaviour management and Post natal depression management, is an Early years practitioner and a qualified maternity nurse.
Kate has worked on large scale projects such as one for the Birmingham Primary Care Trust, NHS with Dr Foster Intelligence. On this project the Kidology team developed and delivered the 'Kids on Track' intervention for 7,000 pre-school children and their parents. Kate created an intervention that delivered messages that focused on teaching parents about portion control in their child’s diet and the parenting skills they need in order to support these changes in their families diet.
Kate is very proud to be the parenting consultant for AVENT childcare products, a huge global brand. Kate features monthly on their new global parenting community writing articles and giving advice to mothers around the world.
Kate speaks at venues for charities such as HomeStart and the NCT. She is also on the advisory board for Parenting UK. Kate works with many private clients troubleshooting for them within the home environment or running group sessions for parents.
Kate regularly speaks on local radio as a parenting consultant and loves writing for the number of parenting publications she appears in.
Kate's approach is down to earth, practical, positive and of course hands on. She is very keen to take any opportunity to enable her to promote positive, helpful and up to date parenting strategies to today's parent. Being a parent is the challenge of a lifetime and Kate know everyone needs some guidance and support at some stage of the game. We get driving lessons, we don't just hop in and learn on the hoof, but there is no such luck with parenthood. You come home with your bundle of joy from the hospital and that's it, nothing but the odd patronising, generic parenting book to help you along the way........
